Funeral Grant

A Funeral Grant helps with some of the funeral costs for someone who had died.  Generally the person looking after the funeral arrangements will apply for this.

There is an income limit for this grant which is based on the financial circumstances of the deceased person at the time they passed away.

Talk to Work and Income or Senior Services if the person you cared for was 65 and over.

ACC and Veterans Affairs also pay funeral grants.
