TOA Pacific (Treasuring Older Adults & Pacific Aiga Carers) is a national non-profit based in Otahuhu, Auckland. A leader for aiga carers in New Zealand, TOA Pacific:
• Advocates on behalf of Pacific older people and aiga family carers
• Leads the way by actively treating Pacific older people with care and respect
• Coordinates a nationwide network of aiga carers
• Is working in partnership with Carers NZ to develop a new network for children and young carers
TOA is the acronym for Treasured Older Adults ... carriers of wisdom, and treasures of yesteryears!
Vaka Tautua is a not for profit organisation formed by the PIASS and Malologa Trusts. PIASS (Pacific Information Advocacy and Support Services) was established in 2000 by Pacific people with disabilities.
With the support of the Ministry of Health, PIASS became the first Pacific non-government organisation to directly address the needs of Pacific disabled people.
